Weight History

I am a 28 year old wife and mother. I’ve never been a thin person, but things really got out of hand after the birth of my son. I actually gained weight after he was born, getting up to my highest weight ever: 225. I knew I needed to lose weight and soon.
Back when I was in nursing school, maybe 3 years prior to the birth of my son, I’d lost about 30 lbs on the Atkins diet. That put me at about 160 lbs, which is a good weight for me considering that I carried a lot of muscle. In addition to doing Atkins, I also was heavy into step aerobics and was even beginning to teach a few classes.
Well, as with any way of eating, I stopped following the plan and eating junk again. I stopped working out. I gained back about 20 lbs. I stayed at that weight (180s) until I had my son.
Devastated by my highest weight of 225, I begin a workout plan that included work out DVDs and a running plan, Couch to 5k. I also started eating healthy and calorie counting. I am slowly learning how to live my life in a healthy way and getting to my goal weight of 150 lbs.I’ve done multiple 5k runs, a 10k run, and, recently, a triathlon.

Just stopped by to check out your blog! You are doing great!!! I love running and I’ve neber been a size 2! LOL
Thanks Gonabfit!
Very cool. I have trying to run a 5K for the past 3-4 years (off and on). For one reason or another I never make it. I know I can actually run the distance (I’ve done it on the treadmill many times) but I am so inconsistent with my running and then whenever I run outside on the street my ankle messes up. I’m signed up for 2 5K’s in the next 3 months so hopefully after I go the running store and get some specialty stiff for my ankle I will actually run one. Anyway, I wish you all the success in your endeavors. I’m excited to keep up with this blog.
